Reed Harradine recently transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He currently serves as the first-string kicker and kickoff specialist for the Golden Eagles, bringing with him the momentum of a standout tenure at Grambling State University. A dedicated student and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Mr. Harradine blends academic focus with athletic ambition as he works toward a future in the NFL or a professional role within the league.
His journey in sports began with soccer, where he specialized as a goalkeeper. Growing up with a father who coached the game, he was immersed in the sport from an early age and began competing in organized leagues by age eight. He rose through elite ranks, playing with the Elite Competitive National League and the Olympic Development Program. In 2022, while attending Mountain Brook High School, he helped lead his team to a state championship victory. That season included a remarkable run of five consecutive shutouts and eight clean sheets across 18 matches.
At age 14, Mr. Harradine began transitioning to football after catching the attention of Coach Mike McCabe at One On One Kicking, a nationally regarded development program for specialists. Under Coach McCabe’s mentorship, he developed skills in placekicking and punting—abilities that would come to define his football career. He continues to train with One On One Kicking during the off-season, maintaining sharp form and readiness for competition.
While still in high school, Mr. Harradine expanded his role beyond the field by mentoring young kickers and punters in the Birmingham, Alabama area. His leadership and encouragement helped younger athletes build confidence and refine their technique. He also gave back to the soccer community by refereeing youth games, deepening his understanding of the sport that shaped his early athletic development.
During the 2024 season at Grambling State University, Mr. Harradine served as the first-string kicker and kickoff specialist. His performance earned him campus-wide recognition, including induction into the National Society of Leadership and Success. Alongside his athletic and academic commitments, he worked part-time as a server at the Park Ave Diner in Ruston, Louisiana.
Outside of football, Mr. Harradine enjoys golf and fishing. His commitment to growth, both on the field and in the classroom, continues to shape his path as he prepares for professional opportunities in sports and finance.
